Microsoft patent teases wearable device that could help Parkinson’s patients

Nowadays competition becomes very tough in the technology sector and it forces companies to come up with new ideas and inventions. These new inventions have become even better when help to improve people’s life. that’s what we are expecting from Microsoft’s new wearable device.

Product titled with “WEARABLE DEVICE” was filed back in June 2017 and patent published by USPTO. This device is launching for Parkinson’s patients specifically. there are conductors in its heart that are potential enough to allow the patient to adjust the position. these conductors work with sensors.

The device is packed with capable battery to use whole day with a single charge without interruption. other communications protocols like Bluetooth and wifi also included in a package.

“Haptic stimulation systems apply forces or vibrations to stimulate a user’s sense of touch. Touch-screen devices may use haptic feedback to indicate key presses to a user; games controllers may use haptic feedback to increase video game immersion (e.g. by vibrating in response to a collision or explosion within a video game) and smartwatches may use haptic feedback to provide silent alerts to the wearer,” Microsoft noted in its patent.

The patent application further notes, “Described herein is a wearable device which uses haptic actuation for therapeutic stimulation and in various examples, the wearable device may be word close to a joint and used to affect (eg reduce or stabilize) involuntary movement of the joint or limb. The wearable device described herein may be used to alleviate some symptoms of a condition which affects motion or control of the limbs and one example is Parkinson’s disease.”

This invention indeed brings some change if it comes true. It is necessary to mention that many tech companies every year file multiple hardware patents but not all give the actual result. we are not sure when Microsoft going to launch this wearable product but still hopeful, soon we will hear some good news.
